Impact Speech and Drama Festival 9-28 March 2024

An exciting festival with a mix of ‘old- favourite’ sections which have been so well supported over the years and new sections geared towards social media influences, presentation skills and technology to appeal to the digital generation.We are delighted to share our innovative and progressive syllabus with a wide variety of both individual and group work offerings, as well as prepared and improvised work.

Speak Up Speak Out Festivals

  • Takes communication to a new level, incorporating technology (projections and audio visual -tools) which appeal to the social media, digital generation!
  • Creates a platform of Communication events for all students who wish to share their knowledge of a chosen school subject or extra mural experiences more widely.

    IMPACT develops the skills of confident expression
  • Across the entire curriculum from Art to Zulu.
  •  Providing opportunities for participants to debate, persuade, advocate, engage and interact with peers and observe and listen to the presentations of participants from many diverse backgrounds
    Assessing talks and presentations effectively illustrated and suport  ed with audio and visual enhancement

    IMPACT’s Communication events will follow set guidelines:
  • Speakers will have an opportunity to present topics chosen
    from the school curriculum or linked to their CAPS projects. Or they may choose a theme to set for the topics
  • Visual aids may be used to support the content

Create your own festival

  • Here schools are allowed and encouraged to build their own festival.
  • We are able to provide both training and ‘adjudicators for these festivals.
  • Examples of these might be:
  • Poetry Speaking, Prepared and Impromptu Public Speaking, Inter House or Best Speakers
    competitions.

Outreach

Outreach

IMPACT promotes the values of access and resource sharing through forging partnerships with teachers and students in communities and school contexts where opportunities to

develop Drama and Communication are not readily available.

 

Customised programmes and workshops

  • Help students build confidence in their drama and expressive oral communication skills.
  • Support teachers to integrate drama skills into their classroom teaching.
  • Equip teachers with methods and techniques to enter the our annual festivals which provide a platform for students to perform.
  • Promote the development of events such as presentation of items by school pupils at internal assemblies; events in the school calendar or even school year end drama and musical theatre productions.
